Where I Stay: The Dining Room

 BEFORE

NOW

Here are a few shots of the cleaned up Dining Room. It's far from done, but I'm really liking the room. It's kind of weird, and very adult to have a formal dining room. It's been pretty cool to not eat folded in half sitting on the couch. The room is great, it's probably the brightest room in the house. Keisha the dog loves sun bathing in the early afternoon in this room. As you can see in the photos, the room has a nice fireplace with some interesting original built in above the mantel, and an interesting original upside down looking light fixture.
I definitely need to get some furniture for this room but for now I have an outdoor table covered in some burlap, some random chairs that I've found over the years, and a few sorry looking plants.

Hedgehouse

I came across Hedgehouse the other day and was surprised at how nice and affordable their furniture was. I really like their walnut table and stools. The pieces are made by an Amish woodworker. It's pretty cool to know that a guy with a giant beard and an awesome haircut made this furniture. They also had this nice set of vintage Brunswick chairs for sale that I thought would be perfect with that table. Check out the Hedgehouse Etsy shop here

Truck Furniture and Bird Coffee: Osaka, Japan

I've been a HUGE fan of Truck Furniture ever since I stumbled upon their shop while visiting Japan a couple of years ago. Tokuhiko Kise and his wife Hiromi Karatsu own a great space that functions as their home, design studio,  workshop, and coffee shop. I love how simple their space is while still being super warm and inviting. I can't wait to make my way back to Truck Furniture and Bird Coffee next time I'm in town.

Henry Jason

I would like everyone to meet Henry Jason. This little dude has turned my life upside down (in a good way) My wife gave birth to him at 8:41am on October 22nd 2011. Here are some photos of the little man kicking it in his new room.
So far being a parent has been crazy. Crazy good, crazy terrifying, and crazy tiring. He is healthy, handsome as hell, and has square Flinstone like feet.
 The little man mans room.
We unfortunately couldn't find a good vintage rocker in time but got this Ikea one to get the job done.
This beautiful quilt was a gift from my super talented cousin Claire. She has an Etsy shop that has some incredible items for y'all to purchase.
I finally had a reason to pick up a Steele Canvas laundry basket. I ordered it directly from the website and they were super friendly and it got to me within a couple of days. This kid fires through clothes, it's insane.
