  1. Oh wow! You will just love it! My advice, head to the Marais, can't go wrong. Merci is a must. Have fun.

  2. Seconded on Merci - the cafe is great too.

    A few other tips:

    - Hunting Museum (Musee de la chasse et la nature) in the 3rd. You won't regret it.

    - Porte de Vanves flea market - cheaper than Clingancourt, smaller stuff (that you can actually pack back)

    - Laduree - have breakfast or tea at the one in St. Germain on the corner of rue Bonaparte and rue Jacob. The back dining room is pretty special. Shopping around here is generally good too.

    - Dinner at La Societe - interior by Liagre in an old (unmarked) bank building in St. Germain. Was a bit of a hot spot 1.5-2 years ago.

    - Le Printemps department store on Boulevard Hausmann. The store's nothing to shout about, but the view from the roof deck is. Brasserie Printemps is also an experience (for the space, mainly) - a huge art nouveau stained glass dome.

    - La Grande Epicerie - huge market, part of Le Bon Marche department store.

    Have a great trip!

  3. Hey Myles,

I'm glad I checked your blog today! Other than the typical tourist spots, I'd recommend this falafel place called L’As du Fallafel (if you're into falafel) and the Shakespeare and Co. bookstore (if you're into bookstores).

    Have fun!

  5. Echoing spending a day in the Marais (4th Arr.) and visiting La Grande Epicerie Paris (I still use my shopping bag bought there two summers ago).

In addition, spend 1/2 day strolling Ile St. Louis and Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle are worth a visit).

Go to Musee d'Orsay, Luxembourge Palace & Gardens, and the Jardin des Plantes (visit the Paris Zoo while there), if you have time.

Food: Sorza on Ile St. Louis is my favorite dinner spot.

  6. I'm sure you know about Colette,it's pretty cool. 213 Rue Saint-Honoré 75001 Paris, www.colette.fr

In the Marais, have a quick bite at Crêperie Suzette 24 Rue des Francs Bourgeois 75003 Paris

Check out a Habitat store for sure if you've not been to one, I always like to see what they have.

If you've not been to a Zara Home before, I'd check it out too. There are a few of them.
54 Avenue Victor Hugo, 75116 Paris

  7. Hey man,
Love the blog. Excellent recommendations so far.....also, Chapeau Melon in Belleville. One of the largest Organic Wine selections in the city, but in a tiny, hole in the wall spot. Fantastic food as well. Have fun.

  8. have a good trip in here, go have a chocolate and a pie at "le loire dans la theiere" rue des rosiers, grab a steack au "cafe charlot" rue chalot, le marais, there's also a great sandwich places, go see Alain au "marche des enfants rouges" le marais too. you can ask anyone, they know the place and will indicate you the place.
Walk on the st honore's street, there's a lot of good store there.
Go to the Grand palais, the monumenta looks to be amazing this year.
Enjoy your stay in our town ;)
